Beyond CNC Machining: Integrated Precision Manufacturing & Surface Engineering Solutions

For complex electronic housings, precision machining alone is not enough. Material selection, manufacturing processes, surface treatments and electrical functionality must all be considered to ensure reliable performance and consistent production quality.

At CTT Metal, we integrate precision CNC machining, multiple manufacturing routes and controlled surface finishing to support industrial cameras, embedded vision systems, RF and microwave electronics, Edge AI computing, aerospace and defense applications.

Precision Machining & Material Capabilities

Our manufacturing experience includes complex aluminum housings, deep cavities, thin-wall structures, heat-sink fins, precision threads and multi-face machining.

Materials include aluminum 6061/6082/7075, C110 copper, cast aluminum A380/ADC12/A356, stainless steel, titanium, Kovar, Invar and PEEK.

Beyond CNC machining from solid billet, we integrate aluminum extrusion, forging, die casting and precision CNC finishing to optimize manufacturing routes from prototype development to serial production.

Surface Engineering & Specification-Controlled Finishing

Through our qualified manufacturing partners in Taiwan, we support:

  • Clear anodizing to MIL-A-8625 Type II, Class 1.
  • Black anodizing to MIL-A-8625 Type II, Class 2.
  • Hard anodizing to MIL-A-8625 Type III, Class 2, including projects specifying 60 ± 5 μm coating thickness.
  • Clear chemical conversion coating to MIL-DTL-5541 Type II, Class 3.
  • Specified black color #37038 to SAE-AMS-STD-595 and nickel acetate sealing.
  • Powder coating, painting, nickel plating, silver plating, gold plating and immersion gold finishing.
  • Selective masking, laser marking, engraving, color filling, screen printing and pad printing.

We also have experience producing appearance-critical cast aluminum housings with black and color anodized finishes, combining controlled casting processes with precision CNC machining.

Post-Anodizing Machining & Electrical Conductivity

Anodized aluminum surfaces are electrically insulating, which can create challenges for electronic housings requiring grounding, electrical contact or EMI shielding.

CTT supports precision secondary machining after anodizing to selectively remove insulating oxide layers from designated grounding points, mounting interfaces and electrical contact surfaces.

Where specified, localized chemical conversion coating can be incorporated to provide corrosion protection while maintaining electrical conductivity.

This approach is particularly relevant to RF enclosures, microwave amplifier housings, industrial camera housings and rugged electronic chassis.

Assembly-Ready Manufacturing & Quality Assurance

Our capabilities also include threaded insert installation, including blind tapped holes, coordinated with surface finishing and final dimensional inspection.

CMM inspection, material certificates, coating documentation and first article inspection reports can be provided according to project requirements.

We also have experience with aluminum material specifications AMS-4027 and ASTM B209, together with REACH and RoHS compliance requirements.

From material selection and manufacturing process planning to surface finishing and final inspection, CTT coordinates integrated manufacturing solutions entirely in Taiwan.
